Tuskegee Flier

Tuskegee Flier

The history behind the naming of Stuhrling Original’s Tuskegee Flier goes back to World War II when Eleanor Roosevelt, First Lady at the time, introduced the “Tuskegee Experiment,” a controversial  Army Air Corps program that trained African Americans to fly combat air crafts. The Tuskegee Airmen  included pilots, navigators, bombardiers, maintenance and support staff, instructors, and all personnel who kept planes in the air. This timepiece is our way of celebrating their courage and contribution to our country.

The Tuskegee Flier utilizes a simple but elegant design: it’s outfitted with a classic three-hand movement and a date indicator at six o’clock. The dial on some executions have been treated with Super Luminova on the dial while others have it on the hands and markers. For our black executions, the case, made from the finest 316L surgical grade stainless steel, have been treated with black PVD coating. Beautiful, comfortable, and a great every day watch, the Tuskegee Flier should definitely be one you own and wear for years to come.
